In the Morning a Man Walks With His Whole Body
by Natalie Robin
I accidentally left my radio on all night and awoke this morning at 7am, on the dot, to the intro of Fly Like an Eagle sweetly filtering through the stereo speakers, crawling up over the foot of my bed, and into the top of my rested cognition.
It’s a strange feeling to hear music when you don’t yet have any projections on the day, no reason for associations that negotiate you into happiness or sadness or that coax a memory into your mind. A song that feels good because it just sounds good. No time or energy yet to think about why it does–it just does. Let it do.
